TRAINING

At R Hockey Academy, we do not tell R students to do something. We explain and demonstrate the proper techniques. We train over 145 hrs on ice. This is an equivalent of almost 2 full hockey seasons and 4 hrs of dynamic hockey training off ice each week. We train through proper repetition. R Academy uses technology to help train the new millennial athlete. Using all the resources at R finger tips, we develop and drastically improve every students skill set.

Millennials prefer a broad spectrum of learning strategies. The concept of learner-style is more pronounced in this generation. They prefer learning materials that are delivered to cater to their visual, auditory and even kinesthetic needs. They need to experience change in delivery formats to maintain interest, R methods: Relevance, Rationale, Relaxed, Rapport and Researched Based.

While training our student using the proper techniques, we create muscle memory with proper repetition to master the skills. Station based skill development maximizes reps and the number of skills you can train each day during on ice training session."R" Academy follows the guide lines set by the USA Hockey ADM model and Long Term Athletic Development of age appropriate training, on and off the ice.
